Multifunctional Hotel Complex

Autodesk Revit Design of a Hospitality Facility

Quick Facts

Facility: Hotel Complex, Minsk, Belarus

Facility Size: 100,000 sq. ft.

Duration: 6 months

Services Provided: Architectural Design, Structural Design

Software Solutions: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks

Final Deliverables: Concept Design, Detailed Design, Autodesk Revit BIM Model

Description

The Project is a concept and detailed design of a hotel complex comprising SPA center, swimming pool, two restaurants, banquet halls, meeting rooms, fitness center, kids’ room, and several other recreational facilities. Architectural and structural design done in Autodesk Revit advanced the design process and eliminated collisions thanks to diligent clash detection done in Autodesk Navisworks

Pedestrian bridge

Autodesk, Dynamo and SOFiSTiK-backed Design of a Pedestrian Bridge

Quick Facts

Facility: Modular Pedestrian Bridge

Bridge Span: ~30 meters

Duration: 2 months

Services Provided: Architectural Design, Structural Design, FEA Analysis

Software Solutions: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Flow Design, Dynamo, SOFiSTiK

Final Deliverables: Concept Design, Detailed Design, Construction Documents

Description

The Bridge is an ambition to organically blend a space frame structure into pedestrian infrastructure. The core idea of the Project has been to design a lightweight bridge that generates a carbon-negative construction footprint. Destined to become a notable public space, the concept of the footbridge includes the promotion of green construction and LEED principles. Custom modifications done in Dynamo facilitated the Autodesk Revit 2019 design process making the bridge perfectly fit into urban architecture. Structurally, the pedestrian bridge design is uncomplicated but rigid and sustainable which has been proved during computational analysis. Finite Element Analysis, aerodynamics cross-flow velocity, and cross-flow pressure demonstrated the design viability.

Stadium renovation

CUSTOMER
One of the oldest and largest architecture and construction consultancies in the country.
Employing over 500 specialists; owned by local authorities.

CHALLENGE
The customer has won a major governmental tender for sports facilities reconstruction and design.
All works were to be done using BIM technologies, but the company had only 2D-specialists working in AutoCAD. The customer needed a reliable partner to complete the following scope of work:

  1. Implement BIM technology: corporate BIM training, making a pilot project, on going support;
  2. Help with the reconstruction project of existing stadium that needs to preserve its historic facade and get a new stand roof and get new utility networks.

SOLUTION
BIM Machine split the project into 2 parts and executed the following roadmap:
Part 1. BIM technology implementation:
  -Company infrastructure research;
  -Software/Hardware modernization;
  -Infrastructure modernization;
  -Corporate training, The Customer’s employees involved in the project were split into several teams:
       1 architects team training (6 people);
       3 structural designers teams training (3×5 people);
       3 MEP designers teams training (3×8 people, HVAC, plumbing, electrical);
       1 technologists team training (6 people);
  -BIM execution plan (BEP) development;
  -Revit families library creation.
Part 2. Designing process:
  -Integration with in-house designers to made the Stadium project;
  -Creating the model df existing stadium;
  -Using “Phasing” tool to start reconstruction project;
  -Using Tekla Structures to design steel structures of the stand roof;
  -Combining Revit model with Tekla model using Navisworks.

RESULT
In the face of BIM Machine the Customer got a on-the-field-coach who helped to complete the project and educate the internal team:

  • 350 hours of corporate education and about 50 people trained;
  • 1000 hours of support;
  • 2000 hours of designing was done by the consultants crew (10% of all design time).

  -BIM model with full pack of construction drawings and historic view information;
  -Construction is in progress now, historic facade has been reserved;
  -New roof is under construction.
